Amstel Music Prize Winner Announced |

 The
Dutch conductor Heinz Friesen (1934) has
received the Amstel Music Award 2009. It was presented to him by surprise during the final
concert of the annual Grachtenfestival aan de
Maas, where he conducted the
Harmonie St. Michaël van Thorn.
Friesen received this prize for his outstanding achievement as a conductor and his valuable contributions to the promotion of the wind orchestra. |
